Troy's Birth Story

I'm so happy I was able to do this birth story. I went to high school with NaTasha and she's such a sweet person.
This is the first C-Section I have done. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go into the O.R. with her, (each hospital is different, some let you, some don't) but hopefully you will see from these photos that a birth story is so much more than just the birth, it involves so many more things, the birth is just a small piece.

I don't usually narrate, but because this was my first C-Section and I didn't know what to expect, I'll explain so that if any of you have wondered how a C-Section goes, you won't have to wonder anymore. This was a scheduled C-Section, which is slightly different from an emergency C-Section. You usually schedule a C-Section if you delivered previous babies this way. In NaTasha's Case, this was her second C-Section.

NaTasha was scheduled for 7:00 am. I arrived at the hospital around 6:30.

I quickly came to realize C-Sections have A LOT more paperwork.

You can also expect to not be hooked up to the usual Pitocin.

Also, several people come in to talk to you about what's going to be happening. And they have you sign EVERYTHING. :)

Then, suddenly, it's time. You put your hair up, your nerves start going, and before you know it, they're wheeling you into the O.R.

All at once, they were gone. I was left alone. All there was left to do was wait.

It was so strange to see a delivery room empty like this.

Here's NaTasha post-surgery, anxious, waiting to meet her new baby.

Troy Douglas was born on Monday, April 8th at 7:54 am. He was 9 lb. 6 oz. 20 inches long. NaTasha was SO excited to meet her new baby. She had one of the best mommy reactions I have yet to see. She was so sweet with him, and DID NOT want to share. :)
